Related Information: Log trucks

Today's loader is any machine that has been fitted with a loading arm and a grapple. A loader, with this arm, has the ability to pick up logs and stack them securely onto the trailer of a log truck. Loaders can be seen working at the landing, an open area where logs are stacked, where the loader can safely work stacking the logs as they come in from the logging unit, then loading them onto the log trucks as they arrive. Anyone who has worked on the landing knows how busy things can get there!

Removing branches from yarded logs on the deck. At least one person is working on the landing to keep things orderly and safe. This means that branches and staubs are cut from the logs, and the logs are cut to length so that the log load can be be securely loaded onto the truck.
