When trees are "clearcut",
theyre harvested in patches. Each clearcut is the
beginning of a new forest, and the start of another habitat
development cycle. When the resulting patchwork of new,
young, and middle-aged stands on private lands is combined
with old growth stands set aside on public lands, a lot
of habitat diversity is available. And this means wildlife
diversity.
