Streams

Streams are an important part
of any watershedthey help connect all the different parts.
They provide habitat for fish and other aquatic animals,
insects, and plant species and allow passage for migrating
salmon. Even terrestrial animals such as deer, elk,
bobcats, porcupines, raccoons, bats, osprey, eagles, and
insects spend much of their time around streams and riparian
areas because of the abundance of food sources there and
the availability of water.
Streams also offer we humans the
opportunity to enjoy these areas through recreation, leisure,
or aesthetic pursuits.
What a busy place!
